Playford Alive Sales Centre now open for business
South Australia's biggest single urban development in South Australia has achieved another milestone with the opening of the Playford Alive Sales Centre.
Housing Minister Jennifer Rankine was at the opening of the centre today, and said it marks the first significant on-site advance for the Playford Alive Project.
“As one of the biggest urban developments anywhere in Australia, Playford Alive is transforming about 1,000 hectares into what in population terms is the equivalent of a new Golden Grove development in the northern area of Adelaide,” she said.
“This centre is the first visible sign of the start of that transformation – and I’m pleased to say that work on the first of 51 homes in the display village has already started.”
The centre is going to provide an on-site presence for the project’s selling agents until a permanent centre is constructed as part of the display village and be a catalyst for future development of the Peachey Belt.
Ms Rankine said the project is allowing 13 South Australian building companies to participate in its display village with a variety of design and types of homes for people to choose.
“The new homes will be built with the environment in mind, and will display the latest in sustainability and achieve a 6 star energy rating,” she said.
The development will also include a 9-hectare park incorporating a wetlands area as part of the Waterproofing Northern Adelaide and will provide recreation and leisure opportunities as well as recycling of water for irrigation and to reduce household usage
